Verizon invested more than $376 million in its Florida landline communications network and IT infrastructure in 2010. In addition, Verizon Wireless invested $195 million last year throughout the state. West central Florida consumers and businesses are reaping the benefits of Verizon's continuing significant wireline communications and computing infrastructure investments in the Tampa Bay area. From the smallest home to the largest business or government entity, Verizon's networks and technology touch lives, and our substantial investments benefit our customers, employees, suppliers and communities.
Nonprofit groups in Florida received $2,158,109 from the Verizon Foundationin 2010. The majority of the funds went to organizations that supporteducation, domestic violence prevention and Internet safety. In addition, Verizon's Florida employees volunteered more than 58,000 hours to nonprofit groups throughout the state in 2010.
